Job Title: Gender Programme Officer
Employer: Trocaire.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepare programme reports of a high quality
• Ensure up to date reporting to the donor in an accurate and efficient manner
• Organize regular planning and progress reviews;
• Strategic oversight of planning, budgeting, implementing and monitoring of the programme, tracking use of financial resources and activities in accordance with the Trocaire rules and procedures.
• Financial monitoring and working with partners to ensure financial reporting is accurate and consistent.
• Offer top quality technical support to partners focusing on the achievement of the set programme targets.
• Documentation of learning and driving programme learning in the further development of the programme.
• Capacity building and project management
• Roll out Gender methodologies such as SASA! into key parts of the programme.
• Accompanying visitors / delegations as part of the programme monitoring.
• Ensure preparation of brochures, publications, press releases for dissemination and other material for the programme.
• Ensure that results and lessons learned feed into the analytical and project work (i.e. results used to make decisions);
• Ensure a clear focus on the achievement of results as per the Irish Aid logframe. This will entail extensive work with partners and other stakeholders.
• Manage the roll out of a national programme on domestic violence. This will include responsibility for logistics, national media and press, training, development of stakeholder involvement and peer to peer learning sessions in cooperation with key Church stakeholders.
• Perform any other functions, responsibilities or portfolio which may be assigned by the Trocaire management
Qualification, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant should be educated to Graduate level education in Gender / Women’s Studies / Development or a similar discipline
• At least six years experience working in the development sector including experience of programme management and working in a partnership context with an international organisation.
• At least 2 years experience of managing or working on Gender programmes or GBV programmes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills, (including Flexibility, ability to work under pressure in addition to multi-tasking in a fast paced environment
• Strong Computer skills
• Good organizational skills and proven ability to work as a team member
• An ability to write, document learning, and produce coherent documents.
• Good understanding of financial management systems and budget monitoring and reporting.
• Good understanding and wide experience of Project/Project management cycle, and participatory appraisal techniques.
• Ability to build capacity in Dioceses and partner organizations and work with people of different faiths.
• Proactive and engaged in mentoring and working with local partners.
• Possess a Positive approach and an ability to contribute to a strong dynamic team
• Keen attention to detail, accuracy and a high level of reliability, objectivity and honesty.
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict and tight deadlines on a wide range of task
• Focused and task orientated with a high level of attention to detail.
• The ability to work with and manage a wide set of relationships with key Church personnel and Departments.
