Job Purpose:
To provide legal advise to the Company (Board and Management) with a view to enhancing efficient observance of legal provisions in all Commercial management and administrative undertakings.
To provide secretarial services to the Board of Directors
Key Responsibilities:
Provide secretarial services to the Board of Directors
Report to the CEO on business operations and to the Board on Board matters
Secretary to the Board and Management.
Provide reliable and authoritative advice on the legal implications of the policies, plans, operations and indeed, all relevant transactions of the Company.
Develop, implements and controls the delivery of legal support services to the Board, the Senior Management Team and any other Officers of the Company.
Ensure that the Company’s commercial, contractual and other legal interests are adequately protected.
Brief and manage any external legal representatives of the Company.
Pursue the Company’s debtors as advised by Finance Department and ensures collection of outstanding debts.
Develop and coach staff and regularly appraises them.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer.
Minimum Qualification:
Masters degree in Law or a related field.
LLB Degree from a recognized University with a Postgraduate Diploma in legal practice. Should be an advocate with a practicing certificate.
Must hold full professional qualification of Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.
Experience:
Seven (7) years experience in legal and board affairs of large public or commercial organisations.
Successful track record in dealing with Board governance
Personal Attributes:
A mature and principled person with high level of integrity
Flexible open minded and able to work with both the Board and Management.
Has excellent report writing ability.
Must be a regular user of computers.

Contract terms and Remuneration
These are high positions with competitive terms and the incumbent will be offered a three year renewable contract.
