The Organization
CAF Uganda (CAF U) is registered as a local organization in Uganda, dedicated to limiting suffering of HIV-impacted children and families. It provides comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, care, and support and prevention services through effective programming, integration, decentralization, strategic partnerships/ collaboration and referral linkages. CAF U is committed to a cost-effective, innovative and sustain able model for the scale up of national HIV programs, Health Systems Strengthening and harmonization with Ministry Of Health guidelines and the Government of Uganda policy of Public Private Partnerships for Health.
CAF U is supporting four HIV treatment sites providing more than 24,000 clients with services including: HCT, ART and care, TB diagnosis and treatment, PWP, OI management, BCC, OVC care and support, HMIS, nutrition and food security, community and adherence outreach, and HSS. The sites also provide inoculations for the surrounding community; FP services; cervical cancer, diabetes and hypertension screening and treatment. The HIV treatment sites are Family Hope Centre Kampala (FHCK) and Family Hope Centre Jinja (FHCJ), Kabwohe Clinical Research Centre (KCRC), Alive Medical Services, Namugongo Fund for Special Children, Nurture Africa, and ESushenfi Medkal Centre; (BMC).
Duties:
• Pharmacy reports to the Pharmacy Supervisor;
• Select drugs from stock for preparation counts,
• Monitor prescription inventory for expired pharmaceuticals that must be returned to manufacturer or disposed off,
• Receive and value incoming pharmaceuticals while verifying invoices and statements,
• Receive prescriptions and obtains information from patients at pharmacy window, Use computerized system,
• Ensure accurate and ti imi ely dispensing of drugs to patients in line with the doctor’s prescription and in a manner the emi ei ets professional regulatory standards,
• Monitor drug stock through inventory management drug fohriecasting and timely procurement of ols and hoPthi er medications,
• Compile and submit to the pharmacy supervisor monthly quarterly and annually patient drug utilization reports.
Requirement:
Required qualifications knowledge and skills:
• Must be Registered nurse, registered with Uganda Nurses and Midwives council, with at least 5 years of clinical experience in a related field familiar with variety of the field's concepts practices and procedures,
• Familiarity with medical records administration and knowledge of clinic and physician/patient protocol;
• Must have previous experience working in an HIV/AIDS care and treatment setting.
